THE FOG OF REMEMBRANCE
20X16
OIL
$650

Sometimes it all blurs together, the memory of places. This piece is about how I find myself re-drawing images in order for them to be more representative of my experience. The piece is a new oil painting worked over an older image and then overdrawn yet again with pencil to highlight the details. In doing so I clarify the memory to my satisfaction. It is a highly personal work, and has much to say about how my memory has faded while living in our Covid world. It is as if I feel the need to reconstruct visual memories so as to bring past travels into focus. In doing so I learn what it is that remains meaningful.
