THE TEXTURES OF TUSCANY
OIL
18X24
$900

As is ever the case, my memories of Italy revolve around architecture and the texture of the landscape and the buildings.
This piece is a little different, in that it is all memory, and no reality. It really is about the design of the cityscape, and the textures that come at one from all angles.

Here I used an under-drawing of charcoal to enhance the dominant feel of the architectural detail that surround one when walking the streets and back alleys of Siena or Florence or Pisa or any one of the hundreds of Tuscan villages and towns.
